Volunteer Ventures Abroad is a program of ERDT that provides short-term international volunteer projects. This past July of 2016, Alta Via Consulting, LLC worked with Volunteer Ventures to coordinate travel and a volunteer program for 63 people to travel to Cork, Ireland where they volunteered at five different project sites. A community organization that offers training, work and enterprise skills (ie. Woodwork, painting and horticulture) to young men.
Promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Doras is a post-school training service for people with a mild intellectual disability who are over 16 years of age. They support around 20 young people to get the skills they need to work through training and job shadowing.
A non-profit organization supporting over 2,300 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in Cork city and County.
Experienced Irish Culture
Went on walking tours and had dinner with traditional Irish music at the English Market.
Founded during Famine times as a soup kitchen. They currently serve well over 1000 meals per week. Their aim is to give everyone who calls their center a hot nourishing midday meal. In addition, their clients get sandwiches and fruit to take away as an evening meal. There's an open door and a warm welcome.
